Weekend :o)

It was a great weekend. Saturday we went out to Grampa and Mima's house (my dad and stepmom) for Aunt Terri's surprise 50th birthday party. It rained. It poured. The driveway at Dad's flooded. It was sooooo wet!!!
***
Today was Charlize's birthday party. It was supposed to rain, it was cloudy all morning, so we ended up having the party here at house instead of at the park. By the time it was almost time to party, it looked clear enough that we were confident it wouldn't actually rain, but by then the house was already clean and we would have had to drag everything to the park, so we had it here anyway.
***
It was small and simple and nice :o) I only got Charlize a few gifts... a Dora 3 wheeled scooter, a Madame Alexander doll and a couple outfits, a Leapster game, and some kids jewelry, Jada and Pauline brought her some princess Mega Blocks (BIIIIG HIT allll around!), Grampa and Mima and auntie Ashley brought her her very own pink Leapster.
***
She named her doll Cici. I have no idea where she comes up with these names. They are uniquely Charlize, for sure. The kids all played with the Leapster and the Mega Blocks, and we went outside for a bit so she could ride her scooter.
***
We had pizza again for dinner and then the kids played out back for a bit, which resulted in them needing a bath. Again. So I put all 5 in the bath. I put the boys in the bath, wash everyone up, pull one clean kid out and put a dirty one in. Lotion and dress the clean kid. Pull another clean kid out and put the last dirty one in. Lotion and dress the clean kid. Pull the last boy out, lotion and dress him. Scrub up the girls and then pull them out one at a time to lotion and dress. I dropped the boys off at about 8. On our way out the door, Charlize decided Cici was cold. Freezing cold. It just so happened that one of the outfits I got for her doll had a coat with it. So we put a coat on the doll and off we went to take the boys home.
***
I was disappointed that it was so wet, beause I could have snapped some great pics, had the party been outside. It's the natural lighting that makes the biggest difference in the quality of the pictures. The flash... it kills the pictures. But, oh well. The day was documented, the kids had a blast, and we're all tired and full of chocolate cake with homemade cream cheese icing and vanilla ice cream :o)
