June, oh June, how I love thee

Some pictures from the glorious month of June...

(in no particular order... in fact, very *out* of order!)

As you can see, we've been busy.

The weather *today* was absolutely gorgeous. Seventy, clear, and a light breeze, all day. It was perfect.

SOOO we made a water slide. Then we painted outside. Well, they did. I took pictures :o)

The cleanup was rough, to say the least.

But totalllllly worth it.

We are loving June, and sad it's almost over.

But July is right around the corner ;o)

Ketchup

Camp Isaac Ketchup

Ok... catch-up, if you must.

We've been busy around here.

Busy doing lots, and busy doing nothing.

Last weekend, I photographed a wedding for my stepmom's nephew.

They hired professional photographers, too, so I was kind of second shooting.

I got some great shots and a lot of just ok ones. But I took mental notes and learned a few things.

Harold <3 Rebecca.

The next day, I missed a baby shower because I was having such a bad day that I just couldn't pull myself together enough to be social.

I spent a fair portion of last weekend crying, or trying to keep myself from crying. I don't know why. I was just feeling so hormonal, so depressed, so upset in general, and little things were getting to me in big ways.

I'm grateful that it only lasted a couple of days.

During the moments when I wasn't falling apart at the seams, we were busy enjoying the weather.

We were busy swimming.

Busy riding the carousel in circles. Repeatedly.

(Ever try taking pictures while spinning?? It's a lot like the motion sickness I get if I try to read in the car, ICK!)

Busy having fun with friends.

This past week, Rayce was busy finishing up his kindergarten year.

Charlize was busy perfecting her potty training. She's been diaper-free since her birthday last week and has not had one single solitary accident.

And I was busy being one beaming proud mama.

My kids are busy growing up and I have to remind myself not to be so busy that I miss it.

Summer Plans and Goals

I've been thinking a lot about this summer.

Rayce has 3 more days of school left, and then he's off for three months.

I've been talking to him frequently about summer vacation, letting him know that it's not going to be a computer/tv/stay up all night free-for-all.

He says he understands, but I don't think he really gets it LOL.

I have goals for the summer.

For the kiddos and for myself.

Charlize will start preschool in the fall, and I need to work with her over the summer on shapes, letters, counting, and fine motor skills (scissors are very guarded in our house!).

I'll work with Liliya on the same things, it's never too early, as long as she's interested.

Rayce is doing amazingly well in school, but I don't want him to lose it all over the summer. He needs to continue reading books that challenge but interest him (he's currently reading at a beginning 3rd grade level!), and he needs to work on his math and handwriting skills. He wants to learn about money (which will be a great time to throw some easy fractions in there!) and telling time, and I want him to work on more challenging addition and subtraction.

TV and computer time is going to be limited. We've had quite a screen/electronic issue in this family, and I don't want that to continue. Rayce is going to have a hard time with this, but we've been cutting back more and more and I have faith he can break the habit. The girls shouldn't have a problem with it, they are usually very good at finding things to keep themselves busy. As for myself, I have been in front of the computer for maybe 2-3 hours a week lately, which is a *huge* improvement, as I used to spend hours every day online. I have been going days at a time without, which was unheard of for me.

This summer is about us. It's about spending loads of quality time together, really connecting with each other, living in the now, and growing as a family and individuals.

For myself, my goals are mainly health related.

I need to get my female issues taken care of, keep up on my doctor appointments and stop chickening out. I need to start eating healthier, as a lifestyle, not as a temporary weight loss fix. And I need to start being active. Of course I hope that all results in some weight loss, but if it doesn't, I'm ok with that, because my main goal is health.

My other goal for myself is to spend more time on Bonnie. Not Bonnie the mom or even Bonnie the girlfriend. But Bonnie, the individual. I want to seriously work on my photography and my scrapbooking and journaling/blogging. I need to make Bonnie important to me.

June 2010

I've barely been on the computer for the last couple weeks.

I'm slacking more and more on the internet scene.

But that's ok with me :o)

We're getting things done around the house and enjoying the springtime.

Sooooo, to keep our adoring fans up to date, as of late....

Yesterday was Charlize's 4th birthday.

It was also the day of Rayce's last t-ball game.

He hit on a pitch and didn't even need the tee :o)

He got his medal after the game.

He loved t-ball, and he can't wait to play soccer in the fall!

Charlize and her BFF finally both cooperated at the same time for a great pic of the two of them together!

We've been loving our new playground and dreading those rainy days that we can't play on it.

Silly Bandz are all the rage.

We've been splashing around in the kiddie pool.

There's been a playdate every weekend with some of our new friends.

And I've been spending lots of time falling for this amazing hunk.
