Liliya and I prepared the dough today for cinnamon ornaments.
Recipe:
1 cup applesauce
1 cup cinnamon
1 Tablespoon white glue
Mix until it stiffens.
Roll out about 1/4"- 1/2" thick, cut with cookie cutters.
My dough was much too wet.
So I added a few sprinkles of flour, which worked to stiffen it up enough to use.
You could mix in glitter if you're not going to paint them.

Let dry for 48 hours or bake at 150 for about 3 hours, flipping halfway.
I doubled the recipe and it made 5 big gingerbread men, a dozen or so stars, 6 tiny angels, a big teddy bear...
basically, if you're only doing this with 1 or 2 kids, use one recipe at a time, with 4 or more kids, a double recipe should be enough.

We bought the cinnamon at Sam's club, in a big bottle for like $3. That size bottle, BTW, has around 3 cups of cinnamon in it.
I'll have the kids paint them tonight and glue googley eyes on.
I <3 handmade ornaments.
Pictures later.
(or tomorrow or the next day)
